Okemos Head Chef Jesse Sweet attended Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Institute of Chicago and began working at Maru Sushi Okemos afterwards in 2010.

Why does Jesse love Maru?

He loves how Maru is different in their food approach; how both beauty and taste of the plates are highly valued behind the sushi bar and in the kitchen.

“(Our) omakasae [chef selection platters] really allow chefs to be creative and make something from the heart. This is something unique to Maru that other places do not have,” he said.
